Grief 2 Captain MU bent Barcelona
VIVAnews - Captain of Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic was disappointed his team ousted Barcelona, 3-1, in the 2011 Champions League final match at Wembley on Saturday, 28 May 2011 (Sunday early morning GMT).
Three goals from a trio of attackers barca, Pedro, Lionel Messi, David Villa and Manchester United won diminish the hopes of fourth Champions League Trophy. MU only able to reply to one goal by Wayne Rooney's kick.
"If you've reached this point (final), obviously you want to win and you feel very disappointed when you do not win. But we have played good football," said Vidic told Sky Sport.
"We try to do that in a few minutes of pressure the game progresses, this strategy successfully. Regarding the goal of successful they create, because we did not do what we must do to close the space for their players."
The same disappointment felt by his colleagues in the heart of the MU defense, Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand who also once held the tire Captain MU stated that he and his colleagues actually have been preparing a strategy to reduce the Barcelona game. However, the strategy is not capable of reducing the onslaught of Massey et al.
"It's hard to say. We have a strategy game that we think can beat them tonight. But it did not happen," regrets Ferdinand.
Ferdinand said that initially, he was optimistic to beat Barcelona at the time Rooney scored in the first round counterweight having previously left behind by a goal Pedro. "We had some chances and score at 1-1, we really believed we could win this match. But that did not happen"
