Van der Sar Disappointed Not Play Against Blackburn

VIVAnews - Edwin van der Sar was disappointed not be playing when Manchester United make sure his English Premier League this season when a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers, Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has decided not to play when Van der Sar against Blackburn at Ewood Park. Dutch goalkeeper position was replaced by Tomasz Kuszczak.

Before the game Sir Alex was confirmed when he wants to give time off for Van der Sar ahead of the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley Stadium, May 28.

Van der Sar having problems at the elbow ahead against Blackburn, but the 40-year goalie was disappointed not to play and feel the success Manchester United in the field. Moreover, Van der Sar to be one determinant of success of The Red Devils this season.

"I'm having problems with my elbow. It's better not to take risk ahead of the Champions League final. It is unfortunate I can not play against Blackburn. That's an important game. But, maybe it's better this way. It's better for the team and club," said Van der Sar as reported Tribalfootball.

Sir Alex himself asserted Van der Sar needed special treatment to restore his elbow injury and will miss a few days. "All this is necessary, so he could fit in the last week of the season. I want to make sure he can play in the Champions League final,"said Sir Alex. (eh)
