Liverpool- UK High Court frees Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard of injuring a 34-year-old man. In a fight, Gerrard accused of having made him suffer injuries to the face until being taken to hospital.
The incident occurred at 2 years ago at a nightclub in Southport, England, at, 2:30 local time. According to a BBC report, Gerrard was arrested along with six other men. Four men are from Huyton, one man from Formby, and one other man from Litherland.
However, the trial court decided yesterday that the England midfielder was innocent. The court also requires the state to pay damages of 311,000 pounds to the party who was guilty or feel defamed his name (Gerrard).
Even so, the decision to impose restitution to Gerrard widely criticized. Because the funds obtained compensation from the taxpayers and given to those who already have excessive wealth.
Legal Secretary, Ken Clarke is now planning to tighten payment of compensation to the rich. Especially after the budget for the payment of compensation to swell doubled from last year reached 2.1 billion pounds.
